Programs
The Community Programs division of the Institute works collaboratively with varied and diverse organizations to develop, support and coordinate projects that promote and celebrate Italian American culture, heritage and the experience within the Italian American community and community at large. This division serves as a comprehensive resou3:16 PM 10/1/2007rce for information pertaining to Italian and Italian American culture and, as importantly, as a vital supportive link to outside groups involved in the coordination of special projects. This division of the Institute has been designated the official coordinator for all City University of New York activities which take place during October, Italian Heritage & Culture Month. As university coordinator, the Institute surveys and maintains information on all CUNY campus activities in New York and assists in the publishing of these events. The Community Programs division is also responsible for facilitating lectures, conferences, seminars, exhibits, professional meetings, educational activities, community services, and public programs regarding a range of topics. This division also assists educational, governmental and community organizations in planning and implementing their events, particularly for Italian Heritage & Culture Month and maintains a speakers bureau for the community at large.
