Deadline date for applications: March
1, 2004
For more than a decade, the Summer Medical Education Program (SMEP) has helped committed students prepare for medical school – and the medical school process. SMEP is a free, six-week summer program, offering eligible students intensive and personalized medical school preparation. SMEP is a program of the prestigious Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). SMEP aims to recruit students primarily from groups that continue to be underrepresented in American medicine. While focused in part on the preparation for the MCAT, SMEP also offers much more. The depth and breadth of its curriculum, and the daily experiences it offers, provide students with a bank of information and ideas that will make them more competitive candidates for medical school.
